CSPRS is fortunate to have a distinguished group of talented doctors filling the positions on its board of directors. These individuals are responsible for the service-oriented philosophy of our organization as well as the success we have enjoyed so far. They are widely recognized as authorities in the field of cosmetic surgery.
Gary Price, MD — President
Dr. Gary Price is a plastic surgeon, certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), who specializes in facial and breast procedures. He has practiced plastic surgery in Connecticut since 1987. Dr. Price earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Miami in 1973 and his Doctor of Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, where he was president of the class of 1978. He was an intern, resident, and then Chief Resident in Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital from 1978-83, where he was also Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery from 1983-85.
Dr. Price has received the Plastic Surgical Residents Award for Excellence in Teaching at Yale, the Founders Award of the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the Cheston Berlin Award for Alumni Service from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.

As a widely published expert on plastic surgery, Dr. Price has lectured extensively throughout the world, and has also made radio and television appearances to discuss the discipline. Dr. Price has made volunteer surgical trips to Guatemala, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.
Dr. Price also holds a position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He currently maintains a fully accredited private practice in Guilford, Connecticut.
Harold E. Beam, MD, FACS — Secretary/Treasurer
With more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Harold Beam is recognized as a highly skilled and talented plastic surgeon. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, he is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Beam earned both his bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University. He completed residencies at Pennsylvania Hospital, Sinai Hospital of Detroit, and Case Western Reserve University, followed by a research fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a result of his rigorous surgical and ethical standards, and his extensive education and training, Dr. Beam is able to provide the best possible results. Committed to improving both the bodies and lives of his patients, Dr. Beam makes patient education and individual care the most important parts of the surgery process.
Dr. Beam’s Glastonbury cosmetic surgery office is certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. He also has hospital appointments at the following locations:

Charles Castiglione, MD — Executive Committee Member
Dr. Charles Castiglione is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has practiced plastic surgery in Connecticut for his entire career – since 1988. A product of the Ivy League, Dr. Castiglione attended Yale University for his undergraduate training and then the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Castiglione is on the senior staff in the Department of Surgery at Hartford Hospital, where he is also Chief of the Section of Plastic Surgery. Additionally, he is the current Chief of the Section of Plastic Surgery at Connecticut Children’s Hospital. He is also both Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Castiglione has held numerous other appointments in the course his career.

Dr. Castiglione has given almost 200 lectures and presentations in his career. Most recently, Dr Castiglione addressed clinical outcomes of the Furlow Z-plasty for primary cleft palate repair at the annual meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in October, 2004. He also spoke at a craniofacial trauma and reconstruction course in Avon, Connecticut in July, 2004 regarding midface biomechanics and buttress plating as well as orbital and zygomatic maxillary fractures.
In 2005, Dr. Castiglione was peer-rated as the top plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Connecticut, according to a survey of medical professionals performed by Connecticut Magazine.
Born and raised in New Haven, Dr. Castiglione is a lifelong resident of Connecticut. He lives in Hartford with his wife of 27 years and three sons. Dr. Castiglione believes strongly in the positive effects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and he feels lucky to be a part of the Connecticut plastic surgery community.
Jeffrey S. Rosenthal, MD — Executive Committee Member
Jeffrey S. Rosenthal, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has practiced in Connecticut since 1985 and has an office in Fairfield. He is Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bridgeport Hospital and participates in the major hospital committees. Additionally, Dr. Rosenthal is a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Health South Surgical Center and the Connecticut State Medical Insurance Committee. He also holds the Plastic Chair for Doody’s Review Service, a major national medical review book company.
Dr. Rosenthal uses his creativity and imagination to achieve balance and harmony, be it as a surgeon, artist, poet, writer, sculptor, or inventor. Over the years, Dr. Rosenthal has been honored with art exhibits in France, New York City, and at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with additional art exhibits in Westport, Connecticut and at the Fairfield University, Walsh Art Gallery. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on plastic surgery topics, and has had numerous articles written about his art in combination with cosmetic surgery. Dr. Rosenthal has also discussed these subjects during his appearances and interviews on both radio and television.
Prasad Sureddi, MD — Executive Committee Member
Dr. Prasad Sureddi practices plastic and reconstructive surgery at his private practice in Waterbury, Connecticut, founded in 1987. His papers on plastic surgery are widely recognized in both the domestic and international medical communities.
Dr. Sureddi interned at Waterbury Hospital. From 1979 to 1983, he was a resident and then Chief Resident in general surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas as Chief Resident in 1987.
Dr. Sureddi has been elected Chief of the Plastic Surgery Department of both Waterbury and St. Mary’s Hospitals. He is also the former president of the Waterbury Medical Association and the current president of the New Haven County Medical Association. He is a member of the following professional organizations:
